how can we craft economies of Care and Desire?

how can the Erotic be at the Root of such?
~
As part of their residency at Art Hub Copenhagen, the duo xiri tara noir & Sall Lam Toro present on the 1.12.22:

(Co)Opulence Collective ‘(Co)’ of Corpo, Coexistence, Collaboration, Co-thinking, Collapse

and various elements of their artistic process in the format of an installation performance titled:

“We are so exhausted that we fantasise about sleep”

the work of (Co)Opulence explores parallel realities of shapeshifter pro-hoe/heaux queer/trans pleasures, and the power of eroticism as ritualistic and choreographic processes. their Practice is striving to craft economies of Care and evoke Queer Pleasures.

the performance installation is a Process-based mapping universe of interdimensional journeys of Intimate Radical form. A Conversation where past and futures collide in a structural rehabilitation of Desire.

The performance installation seeks to offer new aesthetic languages for liberatory practices based on queering, pleasure, and anticapitalist thought, while engaging with forming Speculative Radical Spaces and Hopeful Futures.

(Co)Opulence is a newly formed collective by duo xiri tara noir (they/them/princess) and Sall Lam Toro (they/them/hir), two interdisciplinary performance artists and organizers working in the field of multimedia performance art, dance and choreography. The collective work explores parallel realities of pro-hoe/heaux queer/trans pleasures, and the power of eroticism as ritualistic and choreographic practices. These engage with forming speculative radical spaces and hopeful futures, where the erotic interplays with and informs mutual aid economies that seek to build alternatives to capitalist, patriarchal and heteronormative structures.

The collective was born out of interrogations of the erotic for crafting new economies (material, of desire and care) forming a process-based mapping of visual happenings. These juxtapose with local and international conversational collages and frame new aesthetic languages for liberatory practices based on queering, pleasure, and anticapitalist thought.

Performed at Queer Art Festival Stockholm on the 24.09.2022 and at Open Out Festival in Trømso on the 30.09.2022
